Progress in Your Lifetime

For your first post, please comment about an invention, innovation, or social change that has occurred since you were born and that represents "progress." Identify the change, explain how the change represents progress, and explain whether you think this progress has been positive or negative. (If you really can't think of a significant change in your lifetime, comment about a change that has occurred since your parents were born.)

In seventh grade I wrote a 150 page book. Also in seventh grade I wrote many poems. So many, in fact, that it took up two notebooks! IT WAS AWESOME!!! I still write lots of stuff but nothing compares to seventh grade.

A change that has occured in my lifetime has been the increase in security at the aiports in Colorado and in the entire United States. This has been a positive and a negative change in my life because I travel often. This increases the time required for travel. This change represents progress because the world seems to be progressing towards a more dangerous place to live. This has also increased the ammount of money going to security at airports. This does not copncern me much because I am not planning on causing any damage to our country and/or its people so I understand the need for such measures. However this does mean a large bother and inconvenience for my Dad because he has an artificial knee that sets off the sencors on the metal detectors. This means that everytime he goes to the airport he has to go through secondary screening (which adds even more time).

An invention, innovation, or social change that has occured since I was born and that represents "progress" is the internet, it has gotten faster, more efficent, and is easier to acess. On the inernet you now can shop, communicate with others, read the news, play games, and much more. It's most deffinatly becoming one of the main resourses for information and yet the internet is still growing to make our lives easier.

Since I was born there has been major porgress on the music that kids listen to and the quality of it. Ive always been into music and its kind of a passion. When i first got into music ii would listen to things like Pop and Jazz, but as the years progressed, so did the music. Latly the biggest types of music are Indie, Punk, Ska, and Hip Hop. Along with the type of music changing, so did the quality has gotten better. It now is like the band is right in front of you playing without all of the fans chearing. Who will ever know what progess will be made in the future, thats part of what makes life interesting
