It's more that I remember what it was like to be able to select my own books and open them to find new ideas about the other things in life that interest me. I should make more time to do reading like that.

What was interesting to me as I read your comments was the number of you who mentioned that you don't enjoy reading because it's usully for school and you assume that school-selected books are going to be boring.

If that's true, how can teachers improve reading in our classes? What would motivate you to read. If we let the selection process open, would you read books that challenge you? How can teachers help students learn to love reading?Mr. Chasehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10981715547056459647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32532783.post-45806818869884292842007-02-13T14:14:00.000-07:002007-02-13T14:14:00.000-07:00when I read, I usually read at night on the floor ...when I read, I usually read at night on the floor or on my coutch.
I never do my homework before i read. I usually don't read very much outside of mandatory reading for school and I don't always do that. If I read I usually am on an airplane or it is after i have finished CSAP testing.Marcus Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15226021009061313644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32532783.post-15649014210860634662007-02-12T21:16:00.000-07:002007-02-12T21:16:00.000-07:00when i read i read on my bed in my room. i have a ...when i read i read on my bed in my room. i have a little smooth jazz to help me read and a little while later, i get sleppy. when i am tired at night i read. i never read for pleasure although i should. i can be easily distracted so i do need a quiet place to read. i do move around a lot when i read so i can make up distractions. hopefully my reading will be a little bit different.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32532783.post-83494942360815467162007-02-12T19:16:00.000-07:002007-02-12T19:16:00.000-07:00Where I read is usually only at school, in our des...Where I read is usually only at school, in our desks, during silent reading. I don't have much time to just sit down and read on my own.
I read typically during 5th hour, or in the afternoon. But, if I am reading on my own, it's mostly at night just because it's quite, and not much is going on.
When I read it usually has to be completely silent, or I end up thinking instead of reading, or listening to whatever noise is around me, and I then forget I am reading.
I sit up when I read, and I don't do anything but sit and concentrate when readingErin Ohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01713024668177606177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32532783.post-3840218490903541172007-02-12T18:29:00.000-07:002007-02-12T18:29:00.000-07:00I read usually on my nice soft bed or my computer ...I read usually on my nice soft bed or my computer chair/futon in my very relaxed room where i can be calm and collected. I read in my room or on a sofa in my living or family room where it is quiet and I don't get bothered by people. I usuall settle dwon to read just before bed or in the late evening. This time of day is very relaxed and dark. i don't listen to anything or do anything when i read other than to just READ!!! lol. I read in whatever position is most comfortable at the time and place.Christina E.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07660795085598334362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32532783.post-47735448780354695802007-02-09T12:52:00.000-07:002007-02-09T12:52:00.000-07:00So as some of you know if I were to list all the p...So as some of you know if I were to list all the places and times in which I read this blog would be a very long and boring blog that would consist of one very bland list. So instead i shall make it a short, mildly interesting blog. I read everywhere I can, walking, during class (oops) and other odd times. I can read in any position I please, I've read upsidown for 2 hours. The only audible noise that can be gleaned from my reading is the occasional curse at some character that is being extremely disagreeable. Oh and one last thing I have to say is that my favorite reading time is at night when i should be asleep (oh my that was a dull sentence) So for the few that actually read other people's blogs before posting their own, those were my exravagant reading habits that you've been dying to know.Alex C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/15617542916919191142noreply@blogger.com
