Multiple Intelligences Study

Welcome to the new year! To begin our semester, we are going to learn a bit about the theory of multiple intelligences (MI), which may help you understand how you learn. I've provided links to some websites to help you get started. I'm asking you to do three simple assignments this week:

1) Go on line and take a MI (multiple intelligences) inventory to see which are your dominant intelligences. Then read about the attributes of your main intelligence. Print out a copy of the inventory you take and bring it to class on Wednesday, January 10.

2) Go back to the online sources and read about all 8 of the intelligences. By Friday, January 12, be ready for a quiz that will check your understanding of the basics.

3) By Friday, January 12, add a comment to this blog post. Do a two-minute reflection about what you have found interesting about studying MI. In addition, choose a well-known, contemporary person who you feel shares your dominant intelligence. Explai why you think this is so.

We will discuss more about multiple intelligences in class on Wednesday and Friday.

I thought it was interesting that I was most kinesthetic and intrapersonal. I was surprised that I was not very number smart because I am usually good at math. Another thing that I thought was interesting was that nature smart was one of the multiple intelligences. The person who I think I am similar to is Larry Bird, he knows what he is doing and knows himself.

I scored very high on Bodily Kinestetic this doesn't surprise me. I think Brett Farve would place high in this catagory because he is very Bodily Kinesthetic/likes to do hands on material to learn. But the one thing that surprised me the most was that I scored high on Lingustic this surprised me because I really dont like to read or write. The history of this Multiple Intelligence Test was very interesting how Howard Gardner came up with this test.

I scored very high on bodily Kinestitic. I think it was interesting how it matched me perfectley. I am a very hands on, athletic person and thats what this category demonstrates. I think then i am more related too Kristine Lilly because she is very athletic and very determined.

I really did not think I would have such low scores in visual, lingual, and logical thinking. This was surprising. I knew I would get a high score in musical but not kineastetic or naturalistic. I am in tune with nature but I didnt know I would get a high score in it. I never thought I was very kineastetic at all... WEIRD! At least now I know how I learn and what ones I can improve upon. It's good to know what I am good at and what where I have room to grow.

After studying and learning about multiple intelligences, I was not surprised at all on what my results were. The two dominant multiple intelligences were kinesthetic and visual. That is what I expected to get in this test because I learn using both of those techniques. I think that I am very similar to Michael Jordan because I absolutely love basketball and he used his determination to express himself through his body.

After taking the multiple intelligence test, I scored very high in interpersonal and kinestetic. Actually I was not suppsised at all. I think of myself as moer interpersonal though, almost like a talk show host. I'm not really like Oprah but I almost look at myself as Ellen DeGenrous. I like to make people laugh and emphasize small things in stories like she does. I also like to help my friends solve problems.

I thought that it was really cool that it new what I was because I have never taken that test before! It is cool that there is a test people can take to find out what kind of intelligence they are, and that some people can be more than one. The person I think I'm like is Adam Sandler, because he is a great actor and he seems to be the kind of person who likes to do stuff with his hands, like me. He also seems pretty sure of himself, and what he is doing with his life.

After taking the MI test I found it very interesting to see what my pros and cons are. I am Intrapersonal, and Interpersonal. I do believe that I am a people person, and I do know my own weakeness and strong points. I really liked this activity because, in class we got to see what everyones intelligences were.
A well-known person who shares my dominat intelligence is probably, Tyra Banks, because she knows herself well, and can easily relate and openly talk to others.

I have learned a lot about the different types of intelligence. i learned that I was very kinesthetic. Which means that I do things better when I can touch or do them. This relates to me a lot because I play sports. I think that I am like Earl Boykins because I am very athletic and I like to play almost all sports. I have always been kinesthetic, since I was a kid. I have always loved sports and contact.

After taking the Multiple Intelligence test, my results were not really that surprising. My strongest intelligence was visual. I can pretty much picture anything in my mind. My weakest intelligence that has shocked me was musical! I love music and I listen to it everyday. A person that is like me would be my father. He can picture anything in his mind and if he wants to do it, then he does it, just like me. Also, he is not that good at music.

I thought that it was very interesting how I scored 100% on both Bodily kinestetic and Interpersonal. I can see why I scored very Highly on these because one, I love sports and am very athletic and love doing hands on activities and as for interpersonal I can see why I got a 100% percent because I love being around people and I get along with people very easily. The person that I think I am similar to is Jennie Finch because we share the love for the same sport...and like the same things outside of sports. She also loves being around people.

I have found out that i have many different intelegences, however most of them are not ones that benifit me in school. I have always known i am a very visual person so that was not a shock to me. I was a little supprised about my other intelegences, i have always know i had them but i was never aware of how much. I scored very high in kinestetic, music, and interpersional allong with the visual. I am glad that i got to learn alot about myself by doing this assignment.

I must say that my dominant intelligence being musical doesn't totally surprise me, after all my ipod is full to the breaking point with songs. However I was surprised I wasn't more number oriented, after ally I love math and can pick out patterns easily. One person that definitely shares my intelligence is my dad. If you were to put all his CD's, records and misc. songs onto his already outstanding itunes library you could listen to it for up to two and a half months without a repeat. Also he can hear the patterns in music really well like me. Well that’s all for this blog.

I thought it was interesting that I was mostly intrapersonal. I thought that I would be more bodily kinestitic because I like to play sports and learn better when I'm doing something interactive. The person that I'm similar to is Carmello Anthony because in order to be a great athlete you have to know yourself and know how your body is acting.

I thougt that in was right about my intellignce. I do believe that i am kinesthetic. I have taken other test like this one and those also turned out kinesthetic. I one that I thought was going to be the lowest was what I scored the lowest in. I hink this test is very accurate.

Mr. Sale sorry for the lateness of this post. I found it interesting to see the diversity of the people in are classes. I was also very surprised about the number of high scoring categories there were for me.
The person who I feel shares my intelligence is my brother. He and I are similar but then again completely different. He has a musical intrapersonal intelligence. I am more of the interpersonal musical intelligence. But we both share the musical part.

I thought the multiple intelligences test was pretty acurate for the most part, on one of them i would have expected a higher score than a 78 out of one hundred on the bodily kinesthetic part, and on the other test i took i would have thought i would have scored sower than an 8 out of 12 on the musical part of the test. otherwise i thought the test was accurate, i scored high on the math and visual and really low on the nature, basically exactly how i feel about my strengths and weaknesses.

i though it was interesting on how they ask you these questions and just because you answer them a certain way it knows that you what your strengths are. Now I'm not saying it's a bad thing now because I thought that they surprisingly accurate. Well out of everyone, I would like to say Domonique Foxworth because he, like me, is very bodily kinestetic but also is very smart

I scored very high in Body Kinestetic, and Visual. This didn't surprise me at all. I have been tested for this before. I know that I have trouble repeating things that are said to me, and it is hard for me to write down things that are said. I often have to ask for things to be repeated when we are doing poetry dictation in class. Also if directions are just said to me it is hard for me to remeber them. I remeber things that I see written down. Also for bodyily kinestetic, I know that I learn better if I am do something. For instance math if I could do the problem and do what we are learning instead of just sitting in class and listen to a teacher talk about what we are learning I would be able to get it a lot better. I think that my scores were very correct for who I am.
