Hey everyone, this may be a little late but I know how much you all love my comments so I'll post anyway. That discussion was pretty cool, one of the main points was the writing style of T. C. Boyle. On this I have to say, kool, he switches seemlessly from the hispanic couple to the white couple (caucasion, whatever). I especially like the way the surrondings are described differently for the couples. With the hispanic couple everything seems so distant and foreign and mostly hostile. However, the white couple is surrounded by objects that sound as if they had been sprayed with windex and wiped clean. Forgive the lack of examples but I can't seem to find one that expresses my point. Maybe thats T. C. Boyle's real skill making you think the suroundings are described differently. Well anyway the disscussion hit some very big points but this one is the one that I had to refrain from yelling out.
